Show environment command

A command available on most Cisco modular switch platforms; used to display the chassis type, temperature and power information and fan tray status .

show environment [options]

The available options (dependent on platform) are;

  • alarm - display only environment alarm information, this is the default display on 6500 series switches if no option is selected
  • status - display status of power supplies, fan tray and chassis, this is the default display on 4500 series switches if no option is selected
  • temperature - display detailed temperature information for chassis or all system components (dependent on platform)
  • connector- display detailed power connector information for chassis and modules
  • cooling - display fan tray status and type and module cooling requirements
