A command available on most Extreme & Vyatta platforms; used to display the configuration currently in use by the device and stored in RAM. This configuration could differ from the startup configuration used when the device starts/boots up. The running configuration can be changed by a user, an SNMP PUT command and other methods. See the Extreme Configuration Files article for further details on how Extreme configurations are stored and can be used, controlled and managed.
