Set arp command

A CLISH command available on most Nokia IPSO platforms; used to configure the device's ARP (cache) settings.

set arp [setting <value>]

The available settings are;

  • keep-time <60–86400> - specify how long dynamic ARP entries are cached for. The default setting is 14400 seconds.
  • retry-limit <1–100> - specify how many times the device will retry ARP requests before holding off for the holdoff time of 20 seconds. There is a maximum of one retry/request per second. The default setting is 3 retries.
  • accept-multicast-replies <on | off> - specify whether the device will accept ARP replies containing a multicast address. The default is off.

Use the show arp command to display the value of these settings.

Use the show arpproxy, show arpstatic and show arpdynamic commands to view current proxy, static and dynamic ARP entries on the device.

Use the add arpproxy and add arpstatic commands to create and add proxy and static ARP entries on the device.
